Slider turtles are popular pets, with varieties like the Red-Eared Slider, Yellow-Bellied Slider, and Cumberland Slider commonly chosen by enthusiasts. Red-Eared Sliders are known for the distinctive red marks by their eyes, while Yellow-Bellied Sliders have vibrant yellow spots on their bellies.
